Lake Bled Island (Bled, Slovenia)

The idyllic Lake Bled with its walking trail, scenic little island, and Swiss Alps feel is one of my favorite vacation destinations in Europe. I don’t know how more Americans haven’t found this gem. It may be a part of the former Yugoslavia, but it is far from feeling that way! It’s a wonderful location to sit back, relax, and watch the swans swim by with a good piece of Bled's famous cream cake.
