Giralda Bell Tower (Sevilla, Spain)

Sevilla is one of the most historic cities in Spain. The Alcazar, Cathedral, and Giralda Bell Tower are some of my favorite city sights. The Giralda Bell Tower (pictured here) started out as a minaret for a mosque, but in the sixteenth century, Christians took over the site and topped it with a five story bell tower. To put the tower's size in perspective, the weather vane you can just make out on top is actually thirteen feet tall. At night, the immense tower is lit up and visible from all around the city.
