Limoncello is the single most popular item you will find on the Amalfi coast. A liquor made with lemons, it is bottled and sold in every shape and size that you can imagine. Most places give out free samples to entice you to buy it. I asked the driver we hired to take us down along the coast about the limoncello prevalence, and his response was, “Serve very, very cold.” That was all he said… so we found a place that had ‘very, very cold’ samples and took a sip. Maybe it’s an acquired taste because while I found looking at it in decorative bottles and pottery beautiful, I didn’t like the taste one little bit… even very, very cold!
