Amsterdam Canal (The Netherlands)

Amsterdam is similar to Venice in that it is a city very much reclaimed from the sea, filled with canals and bridges. It definitely has its own distinct characteristics from Venice, but there are plenty of similarities, too. A favorite way to travel for a tourist in Amsterdam, as in Venice, is along the waterways, taking in the city sights and sounds–whether it be in a boat or on a stroll.
