The small town of Fussen in Germany is home to two of Germany’s most famous and fanciful castles–Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. The lake below the castles is beautiful in an unassuming way, though. The fall leaves were just beginning to turn and the fog lifting when we arrived. These friendly geese were swimming in the shallows, enjoying the quiet of the morning before the hordes of tourists descended on the area.
