Michelangelo's Pieta (Vatican City)

Michelangelo's Pieta is one of the most beautiful works of art ever constructed. (Sadly, the sculpture now must be housed behind bullet proof glass–thanks to an unbalanced person who took a hammer to it several years back.) Regardless of your religious background, I think anyone can appreciate the true artistry that went into making such a life-like sculpture from a marble block.
