Bijagual Waterfall can alternate between a slow trickle and a pounding deluge depending upon the time of year. When we visited Costa Rica, it was at the beginning of the rainy season, and the waterfall was just starting to increase in pressure and intensity. We had a perfect visit here, first horseback riding out to the trail that led out to the waterfall. Then we hiked the nature trail with a guide who made the jungle come alive, pointing out little creatures and plants we would not have otherwise noticed. When we finally came to the trailhead above the waterfall, we just stood in awe for a few minutes enjoying the cool mist and beautiful views all the way out to the ocean.
