San Giorgio Maggiore Island is a scenic little Venetian island across from St. Mark’s Square. The historic buildings that sit on it appear to be floating directly on the lagoon. From the terrace in front of the Basilica’s Museum, you are at the perfect viewing angle to fully make out all of the details of the little island and the small manmade harbor surrounding it.
