Budapest is one of my favorite European cities. It has beautiful architecture, friendly people, an eclectic selection of sights, and a scenic riverfront walkways. The city is split into two halves separated by the Danube River: Buda and Pest. The View from Pest’s waterfront across to Buda and Castle Hill is a colorful mix of rooftops and spires periodically piercing the skyline. This ex-communist city is a joy to explore and definitely worth a few days of your time.
