Monks at the Gothic Temple (Ayutthaya, Thailand)

Thailand- Ayutthaya- Gothic Temple Monks 103.18.2013- The Gothic Temple in Ayutthaya is the only of its kind in Thailand.  Officially named Wat Nivet Thamaprawat, it was modeled after an English Gothic church rather than a Buddhist temple.  Built by King Chulalongkorn in the late 1800s, he took his favorite ideas from abroad and brought them home with him.  The temple is on an island in the Chaphraya River.  To reach it, you must take a cable car across it (an adventure in itself).
