National Palace (Sintra, Portugal)

Portugal- Sintra- National Palace Colorful 12.5.2013- Sintra, Portugal has enough impressive palaces and houses to keep someone occupied for a full day at least.  The National Palace, pictured here, is the easiest sight to get to and requires the least hiking.  Often overlooked for the more famous Pena Palace or the jaw-dropping views the Moorish Castle offers, it has its own merits and is definitely worth a peak.  The double kitchen chimneys which dominate its appearance look like upside-down funnels from outside and are interesting to inspect up-close inside of the castle, as well.
