Saint Peter’s Basilica (Vatican City)

10.20.2012- The Vatican is a major highlight on a trip to Rome–even for a non-Catholic.  The massive Basilica, the Vatican Museum with miles upon miles of world-class exhibits, and the famous Sistine Chapel are must-sees.  We were there on Easter which was extra special to us as Catholics and got to see the Pope say mass (in the pouring rain).  Saint Peter’s Basilica’s massive interior is SO big that I managed to lose my husband inside of it; I was very happy to have a guide in the massive museum because I don’t know how else we would have found our way to all of the exhibits we wanted to see there; and yes, the Sistine Chapel is as impressive as they say.
