Jeronimos Monastery Belem (Lisbon, Portugal)

10.12.2012- The Jeronimos Monastery in Belem is one of the highlights of Lisbon.  The courtyard is surrounded by intricately carved arches surrounding a cool, covered walkway.  It is an impressive, massive structure.  The exterior is nearly as impressive as the interior.  This huge fountain contrasting the lazy pond in front of it dotted with lily pads.  Of all the different areas of Lisbon we visited, Belem was my favorite by far.
